The Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Lahore Division (WCCIL) had the honor of hosting a high-level delegation from the Intellectual Property Organization (IPO) Pakistan. The delegation was led by Ambassador (R) Farukh Amil, Chairman IPO, and included Mr. Noman Aslam (Director General IPO), Mr. Mueed Aman Rana (Director/Incharge IPO Lahore), Syed Anjum Bukhari (Deputy Director IPO), and Ms. Shakra Khursheed (Assistant Examiner Patents IPO).
WCCIL was represented by a distinguished leadership team including Founder President Dr. Shehla Javed Akram, President Ms. Falahat Imran, Senior Vice President Ms. Faiza Nabeel, Vice President Dr. Raheela Akhtar, Executive Members Ms. Kiran Aftab and Ms. Salomi Sharono, General Secretary Ms. Iqra Shamim, Deputy General Secretary Ms. Amna, WRCI Mentor Mr. Awais Bem Mahtab, former presidents Ms. Shazia Suleman and Ms. Rukhsana Zafar, and Executive Member Ms. Farzana Faisal Hashmi. The session was also attended by WRCI incubatees and FCC students, reflecting WCCIL’s commitment to youth and entrepreneurship development.
The visit focused on strengthening intellectual property protection for women-led businesses and explored collaborative opportunities to enhance IP awareness, legal safeguards, and support systems for women entrepreneurs. The discussion highlighted the importance of intellectual property as a tool for innovation, growth, and competitive advantage in today’s economy.
This productive dialogue reaffirmed the shared commitment of both organizations to empower women through knowledge, protection, and innovation, ensuring that women entrepreneurs have the resources and legal support needed to protect their ideas, brands, and inventions.
