The Inauguration Ceremony of the “Skills for the Future” initiative 2025 was held on 17th September 2025 at the Daewoo Facility, Sundar Industrial Estate, marking the formal launch of the Repair and Maintenance of Heavy Vehicles course for 30 trainees of the Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC). The event reflected a strong commitment to workforce development and technical excellence through collaborative efforts.
This specialized training program has been launched under a public–private partnership between Daewoo and PVTC, with the objective of equipping young trainees with in-demand technical skills and creating pathways toward sustainable employment in the transport and industrial sectors. The initiative is aligned with the broader vision of strengthening Pakistan’s skilled labor force to meet future industry needs.
The ceremony was graced by Mr. Nadir Chattha, Secretary PVTC & Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department, Government of Punjab, as the Chief Guest, who emphasized the importance of industry-linked training and skill-based education for youth empowerment.
Ms. Falahat Imran, President WCCIL, attended the inauguration as a distinguished guest, reaffirming WCCIL’s continued support for skills development initiatives and economic empowerment. Her presence highlighted the Chamber’s commitment to promoting inclusive growth and encouraging opportunities that enable individuals—particularly women and youth—to participate meaningfully in the economy.
The event was also attended by the CEO of Daewoo, who reiterated the organization’s support and long-term commitment to advancing technical training and contributing to youth development through practical, industry-relevant programs.
The Skills for the Future Inauguration 2025 stands as a positive step toward building a stronger, skilled, and future-ready workforce, reinforcing the collective resolve of public and private stakeholders to contribute to a more prosperous Pakistan.
